One of the most underrated features offered today on a lot of electric vehicles is the V2L or Vehicle-To-Load feature. Many people ignore the fact that an electric vehicle is basically a huge battery pack which, in an emergency, can power your home and appliances. Recently, showing how V2L helped a Tata Nexon.ev owner and his family sleep for 6-8 hours peacefully during a power outage, a post has been shared online.

Thankfully, the Tata Nexon.ev, which was charged, helped the owner charge his home's inverter-cum-battery. As a result of this charge, the owner of the car and his family managed to sleep for 6 to 8 hours. He added that as he did not have the 30-foot cable, he had to bring the inverter closer to the vehicle to charge it. The owner has also shared a short video showing the wire being connected using the V2L adaptor installed on the charging port.

V2L is a helpful feature

As mentioned above, a lot of electric cars today are being offered with V2L (Vehicle-To-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) features. For those who may not be aware, V2L helps in using the electric vehicle as a generator, and it can power many home appliances, including induction cooktops, lights, and fans, and in cases like the above, it can also charge an inverter.

This feature becomes very useful in case of power outages and when traveling to isolated locations where there is no source of electricity. Over the years, we have seen numerous videos where people have used V2L to cook food using heaters and inductions at camping sites and roadsides. Additionally, V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) is another very useful feature which helps in charging one electric vehicle using another EV.
